Quinchos
Built2025 · San Carlos de Apoquindo
A contemporary addition adjoining a classically-styled house: a white volume with clean lines is inserted into the garden without competing with the existing architecture. The coexistence between both architectural languages is central to the project. The façade facing the garden and pool opens completely through folding glass panels — closed in winter, folded back in summer, the space functions as an interior extension or covered terrace depending on the season. A long skylight runs parallel to the party wall of the existing house, introducing natural light into the quincho and illuminating adjacent interior rooms that would otherwise lack direct lighting. Inside, the palette is neutral and execution is precise. It is a space designed for gathering, grilling, extending meals, and lingering a while longer.
